Horse Comments:
#8 Sugar Hi (9-5) pressed and romped as the favorite in her 5.5f dirt bow at SAR (July 2023). She flopped in her next two stakes starts (G1 Spinaway, Matron), and returned from a layoff and finished last in back-to-back starts. Phil D’Amato took over as her trainer this year and she drilled a 5f bullet May 5, and she rallied wide for the show in her needed May 30 return. She exceeded the winning par for this last time and Armando Ayuso opted to ride this one instead of Over Attracted.
#1 Mirinda (5-2) is the inside speed and she is 1-for-1 at LRC. She wired the field in a local state bred OC-20k/1x affair at 6.5f late last year and is 0-for-3 in 2025. She went all the way in her maiden win at this trip.
#7 Over Attracted (7-2) exits back-to-back turf sprint wins and the late running mare has won on dirt before. Hector Berrios is her new rider and she hit the board in all three local starts. She landed the place in her lone attempt at this distance.
