#2 Ballad of Warrior (6-1) was part of the exacta in all five dirt sprints this year, and he fired trifecta shots in three of four local sprints in 2024. He might work out a nice inner staking trip at playable odds for the productive Morales/Kulp team.
#7 Golden Afternoon (5-2) turns back and switches surfaces. He won both non-stakes starts on turf, and landed the place in two of five route stakes starts. He should get pace to chase and owns competitive numbers. He won his sprint debut under Monday’s rider Irad Ortiz, Jr.
#4 Big Vince (3-1) wired the field in a pair of all-weather sprints at Turfway earlier this year. He was third in the Animal Kingdom on March 22, and set the pace and landed the place in the Woodstock at Woodbine on April 27. He was placed fourth through disqualification last time and the show finisher was a next-out winner. Larry Rivelli has saddled five horses at Presque Isle with two wins and a trio of runner-up finishes.
