#3 Face Down (9-5) returned from a layoff and rallied to miss by a nose in a similar course/distance affair on June 11. Pablo Morales is 2-for-6 with Tim Girten recently and the 4-time local winner has struck three times at this distance.
#7 Little Lamb Chop (5-2) is 4-for-7 with two runner-up finishes at Presque Isle. He was elevated to first in his local allowance return on June 17, and he should be forwardly placed while out in the clear from the outside post.
#4 Mayfly (8-1) ran well in both local sprints. She stalked from the outside post and graduated by 3 1/2 lengths last fall, and exits a show finish as the beaten favorite in a local sprint (winner I’m Heading East won again June 3). Her winning rider Antonio Gallardo stays put and a stalking trip is expected.
