Horse Comments:
#1 Mischievous Gal (6-1) finished in the top three in eight of her last ten starts and she won six of those races. She exits a show finish in a turf sprint stakes race and she is 4-for-7 at this distance on dirt. The consistent early-pressing mare should be in the hunt from the outset.
#7 Asternia (10-1) returned to dirt and finished a good second under the Twin Spires on June 27. She was part of the exacta in all five starts at this trip and might be the one to catch.
#4 Fibber (9-5) is 2-for-2 at Ellis Park including a stakes score in the Audubon Oaks last summer. This is her first start since February and she is firing bullets for this. She lost her last five starts and hit the board in four of those stakes races, and she is 0-for-5 with four minor placings at 6f.
#8 Tapit Quick (8-1) is 3-for-4 with a show finish in her last four starts around one turn. She captured back-to-back races at this distance in January and March. She was third in the slop at one mile May 3, and bounced back with a win at 6.5f June 15. This is her third start after a layoff and I like her early-pressing versatility.
#10 Legadema (5-1) fired trifecta shots in all six starts around one turn (3 wins and 3 show finishes). This is her first start in 10+ months and she needs to work out a trip from the outside post.
