Horse Comments:
#4 Zalamo (5-1) dropped from optional-claiming to Clm-25k and rallied mildly to finish 4th of 12 April 4. George Papaprodromou is strong first after the claim and he should be finishing under his new rider Antonio Fresu.
#5 Tariff (7-2) was 4-1 in a $50k turf route Jan. 23 and he stalked from the inside post and split next-out winners Captain Choochies and Geometry. He was 4-1 again in a $40k claimer April 2 and he chased the pace and missed by a neck. This is his third start of the year and second outing off a layoff. Hector Berrios sticks with the flat mile specialist and a stalking trip is expected.
#2 Pioneer Prince (4-1) set a pressured pace from the inside post and ended up a close third in a $25k flat mile affair April 4. He might get brave if able to shake loose under Edwin Maldonado.
#1 Lord Bullingdon (3-1) won the Golden Mile and Eddie Logan as a juvenile in 2023 but is just 1-for-11 since. This is his third start of the year and he drops from graded stakes and allowance races and is tough to trust at this stage of his career.
#7 Ah Jeez (10-1) stalked from post 11 and missed by a neck April 4 and Pioneer Prince was third that day. Emisael Jaramillo stays put and he can spice up the exotics, but he has not won a race since 2023 (20-race losing streak w/6 minor awards).
