#8 Zalamo (7-2) was claimed by George Papaprodromou (3 wins Friday) for $25k April 4 and he rallied to score in a $32k claimer as my 6-1 top choice at 9T May 3 (runner-up next-out winner). Hector Berrios is his new pilot and he will try to get involved from off the pace.
#6 Atomic Age (5-2) rallied to graduate for Chad Brown at 8.5T last fall. Phil D’Amato is his new trainer and he fired a local 5f bullet for this June 7. His new rider Joel Rosario is 0-for-8 with this barn.
#2 Sabertooth (3-1) exits a late running win as the favorite at this course/distance May 9 (CA-bred OC20k/1x). Antonio Fresu sticks with the sharp state bred gelding and he is consistent (11 2-6-1).
#4 Midnight Strike (9-2) fits with these if you look at his flat mile turf races, but he is 0-for-3 with zero top three finishes at 9T. He reconnects with his winning rider Armando Ayuso.
