#8 Bring the Smoke (3-1) was a distant third in his 2025 bow and the winner clicked right back. This one romped by 18 lengths as the chalk second time out in the mud in February and the show finisher was a next-out winner. He moved to the Whitworth Beckman barn and was clearly second best April 12 (winner next-out winner). He stalked from the inside post and captured the G3 Maryland Sprint by a neck May 16. I like his early-pressing versatility.
#5 Kalahari Dreams (8-1) is 1-for-7 with five runner-up finishes at CD. He was out of the exacta for the first time at CD when finishing 6th of 11 in the mud at 7f May 16. He might bounce back in his third start of the season. He graduated at this course and distance June 2025.
#9 Keep It Easy (6-1) won the Ed Brown in 2024 and is 0-for-8 with a pair of underneath finishes since. Both of his wins were at CD and he exits an okay show finish in a local 6f affair. Irad Ortiz, Jr. is his new rider.
#10 Dive Bomber (15-1) completed the trifecta in his last two local extended sprints. The versatile gelding has struck twice at CD.
