#4 Kotylos (3-1) landed the place in his first two local starts this year, and he stalked and scored by 2 3/4 lengths July 7 (Clm-8k, 6f). He earned an improved number last time and is sharp enough to win this.
#1 Jimmy the Hat (9-2) turns back in his second start of the year. He has a good overall record at this course (10 4-1-2) and distance (6 2-2-1).
#2 Where You Was (4-1) ran well in his last three local starts at 6f. He was claimed for $13.5k July 3 and finished third in a PA-bred OC-25k affair July 13. Tim Girten is 24% with horses making their second start under his care, Antonio Gallardo is his new pilot, and the 11-year-old gelding can still run.
#3 Top Recruit (7-2) finished a neck behind Where You Was in a local $13.5k claiming sprint July 3. He likes this oval and finished in the top three in 8 of his last 10 starts, but he is 0-for-6 with a runner-up finish at this distance.
