Check out my Wednesday (8-6-25) Saratoga Race Course Race 7 analysis below.
SAR 7 (Birdstone, 1 3/4 miles dirt) – Post Time 4:31 PM ET
Primary – #6 DIGITAL OPS, #2 Parchment Party
Secondary – #3 Game Warrior, #4 Lambeth
Horse Comments:
#6 Digital Ops (3-1) ran a big race from post 10 in the mud on July 12. He set a pressured pace and was clearly second best to his talented entrymate Malarchuk. He earned a triple digit late pace rating last time and that bodes well for his chances at this longer distance. His last win was a wire job at 1 3/16 miles (October 2024) and he looks like the one to catch under Irad Ortiz, Jr. in his third start after a layoff.
#2 Parchment Party (7-5) was 7-1 in the local Belmont Derby (G3) at this distance in the slop on June 6. That race was originally scheduled for turf and he dominated that event from off the pace. He fired a local 5f bullet for this July 24 and could easily win again for John Velazquez and Bill Mott.
#3 Game Warrior (9-2) won two local races at 1 1/8 miles last summer. He misfired in his next two starts at Churchill, and returned with a nine panel win at Oaklawn in February. He chased lone speed #4 Lambeth (5-2) in a clear runner-up finish in the Temperence Hill March 28, and he was best of the rest in third in the Isaac Murphy when last seen April 30.
