Horse Comments:
#6 Latte Luv (5-2) was last of 5 in her dirt sprint bow and subsequent stakes winners Explora and Revera finished 1-2 that day, and Total Val was third. This one switched to turf and wired the field at one mile Oct. 3, and stalked from the inside post and landed the place behind Chad Brown chalk Just Aloof in the G3 Jimmy Durante Nov. 23. Her new rider Hector Berrios is a sharp turf pilot and he should have early-pressing options from the outside post.
#3 Peanutbutterbombe (4-1) was 5-2 in her local 6.5T bow Oct. 24 and she set the pace from the inside post and won by 1 1/2 lengths. Umberto Rispoli sticks with her and he has good stats with 23% first route trainer Phil D’Amato, and she is probably the one to reel in.
#4 La Ville Lumiere (8-5) is 1-for-6 overall and her victory occurred in a local turf sprint May 30. She completed the trifecta in two of her four stakes starts and Flavien Prat is her new pilot.
#1 Total Val (15-1) switched surfaces and earned a quality late pace rating in a last-to-first MSW upset at 16-1 odds at 8T Nov. 29, and runner-up Ramayana and show finisher Chair’s Coin returned to finish 1st and 3rd in a MSW turf route at SA Dec. 28. Mirco Demuro seemingly chose her over Latte Luv.
