Horse Comments:
#7 Katar (7-2) is 8-for-12 at Turf Paradise and 5-for-8 at this distance. He moves to the Robertino Diodoro barn and this is his first start since August 2025. He returns to dirt and should be all over the pace.
#6 Wood Ceiling (5-1) wired the field in a local sprint on Jan. 1 and he chased and finished an even third as the 3-2 favorite Jan. 19. Frank Lucarelli is 14% first after the claim and he should be forwardly placed.
#3 Jin Tong (3-1) finished in the top three in seven of his last nine starts. Joe Toye is a profitable 16% with his second off a layoff starters and he will try to get involved in the stretch.
#4 Riverside (5-2) missed by a head in a dirt route stakes race last September, and he returned from a layoff and chased the pace and was best of the rest in third in a local sprint Feb. 9. He has won at Turf Paradise before but has not captured a race since 2024 (11-race losing streak).
