LRC 8 (G2 Great Lady M, 6.5f) #3 SNEAKING OUT (4-1) is probably the second most likely winner on paper, but might be the right play from a value standpoint. The early-pressing type frequently finishes 1st or 2nd, and this is a good distance for her. She drew outside her main pace rival Artistic Diva and can surprise strong favorite Bellafina if that one does not run her best race. #1 Bellafina (4-5) returned to SoCal and got back on the beam in the Desert Stormer (G3) May 17. She is classier than these and could easily score again. The knocks are the inside post and her less than stellar starts on more than one occasion. They either send from the rail if she has an alert beginning, or the sit inside behind the speed. She is strictly the one to beat at minuscule odds. #2 Artistic Diva (6-1) might be a bit quicker than these early, and her best career effort was a local front running optional claiming victory last September. I don’t trust her at this level or distance, but she might get brave if she clears the field early. #5 Hang a Star (6-1) earned improved numbers in her last pair, and finished well for the place in the Desert Stormer last time. She figures to stalk the pace and can hit the board. Wagers: #3 to win, Exacta 2-3-5/1, Trifecta 1-3/1-2-3/5
