SA 3 (Swingtime, 8T)
Primary – #3 SEDAMAR, #5 Colonial Creed
Secondary – #4 Cordiality
Wagers: #3 to win, Exacta 3/4-5, Exacta 4-5/3

Comments: #3 Sedamar (5-2) is a very consistent tactical type at this course and distance. Pereira hops aboard and she should save ground chasing the pace. #5 Colonial Creed (2-1) showed a new dimension rallying from off the pace in an optional claiming victory June 14, and runner-up Maxim Rate won a stakes race Aug. 16 and was 2nd in the Rodeo Drive (G1) Sept. 26. She hopped at the start last time and that might have helped her relax and finish under Prat. #4 Cordiality (5-2) is a 7yo mare with a 6-for-16 record at this distance. Her best chance is to get out there and control the pace, and she might do just that.

SA 8 (G2 City of Hope Mile, 8T)
Primary – #7 MO FORZA
Secondary – #4 Royal Ship, #1 Sharp Samurai
Wagers: Exacta 7-4, Trifecta Key 7/1-4

Comments: #7 Mo Forza (8-5) showed no signs of rust in a razor sharp 4+ length triumph in his Del Mar Mile (G2) return Aug. 23. He likes this course and distance and captured four of his last five starts. Prat has options with the versatile sort and the improving 4yo colt is probably better than these. #4 Royal Ship (4-1) rallied to finish a respectable 3rd in his US bow in the Del Mar Mile (G2). These South American imports usually need some time to acclimate to their new surroundings and I would not be surprised to see him move forward. Smith rides back and he fired a local bullet for this Sept. 25. #1 Sharp Samurai (5-2) is going to get overbet following a clear runner-up finish in the Pacific Classic (G1). He is 5-for-9 on the SA turf course and he won this race in 2018. That was the last time he won and he is probably best at a mile and an eighth, or at least he used to be. He figures to save ground stalking the pace.
