DMR 8 (Desi Arnaz, 6.5f) #7 Astute (3-1) was the strong favorite in her turf sprint bow and she set the pace from the outside post and held on by a neck. Smith sticks with Mandella’s $425k Keeneland sales grad. I like the debut pace ratings and she might be the one to catch. Her older sister Classic Point (Flatter – Discerning, by Langfuhr) won three stakes overall including the 2014 Go for Wand (G3) and 2015 Inside Information (G2).
