Rock Your World looked good in this flat mile turf stakes. Commander Khai set the pace as expected and Rock Your World and Cathkin Peak (IRE) stalked. It was Rispoli vs. Prat and the cat and mouse game between the two favorites was interesting. It briefly looked like the two chalks were heading for a photo finish, but Rock Your World had strong late energy and kicked away to score by 2-1/4 lengths. Cathkin Peak held 2nd by a length over my value top choice Red Flag, and Commander Khai was next and Harlan Estate trailed throughout.

Tiznow Stakes
This was a good race for CA-breds at one mile on dirt. Desmond Doss broke slow but recovered rather quickly and pushed to the fore from the inside post. Margot’s Boy and Surfing Star briefly attended the pace between rivals and post time favorite Fashionably Fast was stuck chasing wide from the outside post. Desmond Doss shook off the early challenges but Fashionably Fast is as game as they come and he was not going away. Those two battled the length of the stretch and Brandothebartender sat a nice trip behind the speed and loomed large in the lane. It was a three-pronged battle to the wire and Fashionably Fast scored by a head over Desmond Doss and Brandothebartender. Those three horses were a dozen lengths in front of Margot’s Boy, and Surfacing Star brought up the rear.
