Acclimate set the pace as expected and strong favorite United tracked from 2nd, gained a clear advantage in the stretch, and won comfortably by a bit less than a length under Flavien Prat. My value top choice Say The Word finished well for the place and Masteroffoxhounds was best of the rest in 3rd. Acclimate was a weakening 4th and Multiplier never got involved.

Nice to see wily veteran Brandothebartender get a stakes victory. He hit the board in so many of these state bred stakes races, and the 8yo gelding sat back, angled out, and kicked away under Umberto Rispoli. Jamming Eddy stalked inside, moved out, and edged a troubled Desmond Doss for the place. Beaten favorite Jetovator set the pace and ended up 4th. Royal Trump, Prodigal Son, and Margot’s Boy trailed.
