Santa Anita Stakes Recaps for 2-26-22
Wishing Well: Strangely run 6.5T stakes race with a slow pace. Betting favorite Hear My Prayer broke on top from the outside post but was inexplicably wrangled back under Juan Hernandez. Dynasty Of Her Own inherited the lead and Hear My Prayer wanted to do more but was rated outside. Alice Marble ($7.80) pushed forward between horses, took the lead under Maldonado, and held off Stella Noir to win by a half-length. The top two were clear of show finisher Spirit of Bermuda (IRE). Dynasty Of Her Own weakened to 4th and was followed by Tpawater and Hear My Prayer. The fractions were 24.05, 46.29, and 1:09.35, with a final time of 1:15.45.
