Santa Anita Recap for Saturday (3-26-22)

On the turf course, a front runner won the 6f opener, a last-to-first closer scored at 8f, a stalker tallied at 9f, a stalker sitting in 2nd behind a fading longshot won the G3 Santa Ana at 10f, and an outside stalker won the hillside finale.
Hat trick for Umberto Rispoli (2 turf wins). Diego Herrera and Doug O’Neill teamed up for two sprint wins. Tim Yakteen saddled two winners.
Santa Anita Stakes Recaps for 3-26-22
Santa Ana (G3): Quiet Secretary set lively fractions for a 10T affair. The 45-1 outsider opened up on the backstretch and figured to falter, which she did. In reality, the front runner was ignored by the other riders, and Queen of Goddess ($16.60) chased from 2nd while clear of the others. The “phantom” pacesetter got the jump on the others when Quiet Secretary gave up the ghost, and she stayed clear in a length and a half victory under Victor Espinoza. My top choice Going To Vegas was bet down to even money, and she was stuck between horses and hemmed inside in the lane. She held 2nd by a nose after a less than ideal trip under Rispoli. Neige Blanche (FR) rallied for 3rd and Closing Remarks moved up outside around the far turn but failed to quicken and ended up completing the superfecta. Keyflower (FR) was clear of the rest in 5th.
The 20 cent Rainbow 6 pool was $155,856, and multiple tickets with six winners paid $2,448,44. The jackpot carryover stands at $82,103.
March 26 Claims: Race 6 – Dance Company ($40k, Mike Puype), Memes ($40k, Bill Spawr).
