Fast main track and firm turf course. One front running winner at 5f on dirt. On the turf course, a closer won the 8f opener, a stalker prevailed at one mile, a stalking favorite graduated at 9f, a stalker won the Cinema Stakes at 9f, and a stalker earned his diploma in the 6f opener (rail at 10 feet).

Santa Anita Stakes Recaps for 6-4-22
Desert Stormer (G3); Only four broke from the gate in this graded dirt sprint. Dance to the Music set the pace from the rail as expected. Solid favorite Becca Taylor pressed and dueled from the outside post and this was a match race from start to finish. Dance to the Music was a tough customer but Becca Taylor ($3.20) kept ratcheting up the pressure and she drew clear late to score by 2-1/2 lengths. Dance to the Music was clearly second best and Samurai Charm finished miles in front of Dynasty of Her Own.
Cinema: Balnikov was the strong post time favorite but he was flat in this event. Beef Winslow got clear early and that was hardly a surprise. War At Sea ($9.80) chased from 2nd, tried hard throughout, and prevailed by a bit less than a length. He has really improved for Ron Ellis. Cabo Spirit found his best stride late and was getting to the winner but time ran out. Beef Winslow solidly held 3rd over Balnikov. The latter stalked outside and had every chance but failed to quicken. Red Road trailed.

Four wins for Ryan Curatolo (3 turf wins). Mark Glatt saddled three turf winners and Curatolo rode two.
