Weather: Temperatures in the mid-80’s with low chance of precipitation
Race 8: Gr. II $250,000 Bowling Green Stakes (11F, Turf, 4yr Old’s +)
#1 – L’Imperator (6-1): Should be on the front end once the gates open for Manny Franco and Chad Brown. The five-year-old gelding has one win over the course and has won six from 13 overall in his career. #3 – Highland Chief (5-2) should be tough if he can return to his Gr. I Man O’War form back on May 14. Plays: #1 to Win, Exacta Box 1,3
Race 9: Gr. II $200,000 Amsterdam Stakes (6.5F, Dirt, 3yr Old’s)
#2 – Gunite (4-1): Returns to the place of his two-year-old Gr. I score (Hopeful) and I think we could see him in the winner’s circle once again. Gaffalione knows this one well and with the speed signed up on paper he should have a great trip behind the first group. #7 – Corniche (5-2) is 3-for-3 under previous trainer Bob Baffert so we’ll see how fit he is in his first start for Pletcher. There was a little break in his training back in May so that’s something I don’t care for. #4 – Pappacap (6-1) has only missed the board once sprinting and has proven to run well fresh. Joel Rosario takes the irons. Plays: #2 to Win, Exacta 2/4,7, Exacta 4,7/2
