Saturday (11/5/2022)
Keeneland – BC Saturday
Weather: Temperatures in the mid 70’s with moderate chance of showers later in the afternoon

R7: Gr. I $2,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Sprint (6F, Dirt, 3yr Old’s +)

#9 – Jackie’s Warrior (4-5): Draws to the outside this year and I believe this is the year he gets his BC trophy. In last year’s running of this race, he drew inside, took pressure throughout, and was eventually found to have had a bone chip. This explains his sixth-place finish, but the past is the past. Being the main speed in the race I believe he carries it all the way this year. #2 – Kimari (4-1) has nine wins from 16 starts for Wesley Ward and she’s looked impressive winning back-to-back Gr. II’s; Honorable Miss and Galant Bloom. Plays: #9 to Win

Pick 5 Tickets: Races 7-11
Ticket #1: 2,9 / 3,4,9,10,11 / 1 / 3,4,5,7,11,12,13 / 4,5,6 ($105)
Ticket #2: 9 / 4,9,10,11 / 1,4,6,8 / 3,4,5,7,13 / 4 ($40)

R8: Gr. I $2,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Mile (8F, Turf, 3yr Old’s +)

#11 – Annapolis (10-1): My top choice as far as the Americans go and this one took the Gr. I Turf Mile over this course on October 8th. He’s never missed the exacta from seven starts but must overcome the outside post. #4 – Modern Games (7-2) seems to love N. America so I’m not going to question this one. Likely winner of the race. #9 – Malavath (15-1) finished second in the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf last year. Plays:
#11 to Win, Exacta 4,11 – 9,10, Trifecta 4 – 9,10,11,14 – 3,9,10,11

Pick 4 Tickets: Races 8-11
Ticket #1: 3,4,9,10,11 / 1 / 3,4,5,11,12,13 / 4,5,6 ($45)
Ticket #2: 4,11 / 1,4,6,7,8 / 3,4,11,12,13 / 4 ($25)

R9: Gr. I $2,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Distaff (9F, Dirt, Fillies & Mares, 3yr Old’s +) Best Bet

#1 – Malathaat (3-1): Comes into this race off two straight Gr. I wins in the Personal Ensign and Spinster Stakes. The latter was a dominant performance over this course, and she is undefeated at Keeneland (3-for-3). Pletcher added blinkers three back and it seems to have paid dividends for the connections. #6 – Nest (9-5) is the other Pletcher trainee who has also never missed the board like her stablemate. She finished second against the boys in the Gr. I Belmont Stakes on June 11th and followed that up with three straight wins for a combined 25+ length win margin. If she wins this, she is the best female in the country, no doubt! #8 – Society (6-1) should be your pacesetter and might hang on for a third or fourth spot. #4 – Clairiere (4-1) beat Malathaat twice earlier in the year and had some bad luck in the Personal Ensign when she gashed her face before the start. Plays: #1 to Win, Exacta 1-4
