R13: Gr. III $150,000 Louisiana Stakes (8.5F, Dirt, 4yr Old’s +)
#8 – Zozos (3-1): Ran well in his comeback race after he was last seen finishing 10th in the Kentucky Derby. Should improve second off-the-shelf for Brad Cox who also enters #7 – Forza Di Oro (9-2) in this spot. Zozos is 3-for-5 in his career with two of those coming over this track. The latter was last seen finishing third in the Tenacious Stakes on December 26th after a four-month spell. #3 – Intrepid Heart (8-1): I will dismiss his last race as it was his first off-the-board finish in his last 10 starts. Looking for a rebound run and gets Luis Saez aboard. #5 – Happy American (4-1) won the Tenacious last time out coming from off the pace and this one has been consistent throughout his career. #2 – Run Classic (4-1): Not sure how far this guy wants to run but I believe he’ll still fall in the exotics. Plays: #8 to Win, Exacta 8 – 3,7, Trifecta 8 – 3,7 – 2,5
R14: Gr. III $200,000 Lecomte Stakes (8.5F, Dirt, 3yr Old’s)
#4 – Confidence Game (8-1): Won his last start at Churchill Downs and has only finished off-the-board once in his five-race career. I love the pedigree and he should be forwardly placed during the early stages. #7 – Instant Coffee (5-2) is your morning line favorite and deservingly so after his win in the Gr. II Kentucky Jockey Club on November 26th. Luis Saez comes to town for the ride for the red-hot trainer (Brad Cox). #3 – Bromley (5-1) is 2-for-2 for Paulo Lobo and gets the services of Javier Castellano. The pricey $450K purchase has won over dirt and synthetic and should handle the stretch out well. Plays: #4 to Win, Exacta 4 – 3,7, Exacta 3,7 – 4
