Santa Anita Stakes Recaps for 2-11-23

Sweet Life Stakes (6.5T): My 5-1 value top choice Itzel got to the front as expected and tried hard throughout, but she got a bit weary late. Manhattan Jungle ($4.20) was always in a good stalking spot under Frankie Dettori, and she got the jump on the closers and scored by a bit less than a length. Ragtime Rose rumbled from last place to garner the place, and Itzel just held the show under Umberto Rispoli. You could throw a blanket over Fun Money, Naughty Lottie and Pleasant Wave, and Excelia (IRE), Satin Doll and Havana Angel (IRE) also ran. Decorated My Life (IRE) suffered an injury on the dirt crossing and was vanned off. Happy Gal scratched. The final time was 1:14.08.

The 20 cent Rainbow 6 pool was $148,316, and multiple tickets with six winners paid $2,576.20. The jackpot carryover stands at $54,952.
