Comments: #1 Chez Pierre (1-1) is going to be a handful if he runs back to his strong early-pressing win in the Maker’s Mark Mile (G1). He easily handled Modern Games and Up to the Mark that day, and those two runners were next-out Grade 1 winners. He is 6-for-7 overall and 3-for-3 at one mile. Prat knows him now and he fired a Fair Hill bullet for this May 27. #2 Emaraaty (6-1) found his best form last summer. He won the Bernard Baruch (G3) when last seen at Saratoga and something went wrong after that and he disappeared for 9+ months. He loses his winning rider Prat to the favorite, and Jose Ortiz guided him to a win in 2021. He will probably try to save ground behind the speed. #5 Anaconda (8-1) fired trifecta shots in 6 of his last 7 turf starts. He missed by a nose in the Danger’s Hour at 8T April 15, and got up by a nose as the favorite in the local Elusive Quality at 7T May 6. The sharp runner can stalk or close and his new rider Gaffalione wins races with Joe Sharp. #3 Mackinnon (15-1) moved to the Chad Brown barn and landed the place when last seen in the Hill Prince (G2) October 2022. This one was a quality turf miler as a juvenile in 2021 and placed in the El Camino Real Derby and the aforementioned Hill Prince last year. Rosario has options with the versatile sort.
