Fast main track and firm turf course. Two front running winners on dirt (8f, 5f). On the turf course, a stalking favorite graduated in the 6.5f opener, a 4-1 stalker won at 6.5f, and a 3-1 stalker tallied at 6.5f (rail at 30 feet).
Anthony Fresu (dirt routes), Juan Hernandez (sprints), and Umberto Rispoli (turf sprints) each booted home a pair. Doug O’Neill saddled three winners and Fresu rode two.

Fast main track and firm turf course. One front running winner at 1 1/8 miles on dirt. On the turf course, a stalking favorite graduated in the 9f opener, a 13-1 stalker scored at one mile, a last-to-first closer graduated at 63-1 odds at 6f, a 5-2 stalker won the 9f Honeymoon (G3), a last-to-first closer won at 9-2 odds down the hill, and a 2-1 midpack stalker won as the favorite in the 9f finale.
Hat trick for Kent Desormeaux (2 turf wins). Hector Berrios booted home a pair.
Santa Anita Stakes Recaps for 6-10-23
Santa Margarita (G2): Adare Manor ($2.60) made it look easy vs. four rivals. She went straight to the front as expected and just cruised along under Juan Hernandez. She coasted home to win by a comfortable 4 1/2 lengths in what looked like a public workout. Kirstenbosch stalked from the outside post and was second best, and Desert Dawn was best of the rest in third. Smoothlikebuttah and Tiz a Macho Girl also ran. The final time for this 1 1/8 miles event was 1:49.79.
Honeymoon (G3): Fast and Shiny made the early lead but was not able to relax and weakened in the lane. Selenaia ($7.60) worked out a nice stalking trip and bounded home by 3 1/4 lengths under Joe Bravo. She was much the best for trainer Jonathan Thomas. Broadway Girls stalked the pace and was second best, and beaten favorite Paris Secret (IRE) was along for the show. Fast and Shiny weakened to fourth and was followed by Pleasant Wave, Comanche Country (IRE), Tea N Conversation, and Una Palabra. The final time for 1 1/8 miles on turf was 1:48.18.
The 20 cent Rainbow 6 pool was $125,894, and multiple tickets with six winners paid $13,451.42. The jackpot carryover stands at $152,511.

On the turf course, a stalking favorite won the 6.5f opener, a 42-1 front runner went all the way at 6f, an even money favorite stalked and scored at one mile, a 7-2 front runner captured the Cinema at 1 1/4 miles, and a dueling front runner graduated at 13-1 odds in the 6.5f finale (rail at 10 feet).
Hat trick for resurgent rider Kent Desormeaux (2 turf wins). Abel Cedillo booted home two turf winners. Michael McCarthy (turf) and Peter Miller (dirt sprints) both saddled two winners.

He stayed a length or so clear throughout and crossed the line a length and a half in front of late runner Maltese Falcon (IRE). Mi Hermano Ramon stalked the pace and finished a clear third. Smart Uncle, Phosphorescence (FR), El Perfecto, and Worcester also ran. The final time was 2:01.27.
