Hat trick for Antonio Fresu. Riding double for Juan Hernandez. Doug O’Neill saddled two winners and Fresu rode both.

On the turf course, a 13-1 stalker upset the 5f opener from the inside post, a closing first timer graduated at one mile, a stalking favorite won from the inside post at 5f, and a 5-2 stalker won the Solana Beach at one mile (rail at 24 feet).
