Comments: #2 Elwood Blues (9-5) completed the exacta behind Arabian Lion and Sir Atticus in his first two local starts. He broke through with his first win as the strong favorite at LRC Dec. 9, and Hernandez chose Baffert’s Justify colt over Super Chief and Princip. #5 Princip (5-1) dominated as the chalk in a $40k/2L dirt sprint at DMR Nov. 24. He is 2-for-2 at 6f and figures to stalk the pace under his new rider Dettori. #3 Super Chief (8-1) seemingly disliked a turf route last time so I will just draw a line through that disappointing effort. He finished 1-2 in all five dirt sprints and both of his wins were at this course and distance. Fresu hops aboard the tactical type.
