Comments: #3 Prancingthruparis (6-1) exits an even 4th in the Cal Cup Oaks at 8T. She goes back on lasix and won her lone turf sprint try in her career debut. Fresu strings along and she should be forwardly placed in her third start after a layoff. #7 Quick Kate (7-2) rallied to miss by a nose in her 5T bow, and stretched out and graduated as the chalk Dec. 30 (clear runner-up next-out winner). Hernandez stays put and she adds lasix. #5 The Shushala (4-1) wired the field in his local 6T bow under Fresu at 4-1 odds Jan. 14. O’Neill has good stats with his second route starters and Dettori is his new rider. #6 Safa (5-1) switched to turf and missed by a head at five panels Dec. 1, and aired in a local dirt sprint as the 1-2 favorite Jan. 6. She stretches out and returns to turf, and Gary Stute is sending out live runners at the current stand.
