#8 Communication Memo (2-1) finished fourth and was claimed on Feb. 16, and was a close third in a $7.5k/3L sprint at Oaklawn on March 21. He was claimed again and won his next start at the $10k level. Brad Cox reached in and took him, and he rallied to win a starter allowance affair on May 4. He is one of four horses that Cox brought to Pimlico for Preakness week festivities, and you just know that he is well-meant in this spot.
#5 Jester’s Song (8-1) improved his speed ratings in his last two restricted dirt sprints at Laurel. The versatile gelding might maintain sharp form in his third start after a layoff. He might offer value.
#7 Kadri (7-2) is a veteran gelding with seven trifecta finishes from his last ten starts (3 wins). He should be all over the pace for a productive jockey-trainer team.
#3 Strugar (5-1) went 5-for-12 last year, and won off the claim in a dirt sprint at Laurel on April 7. He exits a show finish in a turf sprint and is back on dirt at a distance he enjoys.
#4 Clem Labine (3-1) added blinkers and rolled to a big win at Aqueduct on April 27. The 8-year-old gelding fits with these if he can run two alike.
#2 B West (6-1) makes his first start in more than nine months for quality layoff trainer Brittany Russell. He was all over the pace in his four wins and he was well clear in those victories.
