Check out my Friday (5-31-24) Penn National Race 6 analysis below.

PEN 6 (G3 Penn Mile, 8T) – Post Time 7:45pm EDT
Primary – #2 GOOD LORD LORRIE, #7 Set
Secondary – #6 Please Advise, #10 Trikari, #4 First World War

Horse Comments:

#2 Good Lord Lorrie (9-2) stalked and scored in his turf sprint bow at Saratoga last summer, He was off for 9+ months and returned with a victory from off the pace in the Woodhaven at Aqueduct on April 27. Flavien Prat got to know him last time and he drilled a Saratoga training track bullet for this on May 24. I can see him working out a cozy ground saving tactical trip.

#7 Set (6-1) easily wired the field in his 7.5T bow at Gulfstream, and chased from second and won again in the Cutler Bay at 7.5T second time out. His G2 American Turf was a disaster. He had a troubled start and never picked up his feet on good ground. Emisael Jaramillo is 2-for-2 with him and he might bounce back at a price.

#6 Please Advise (6-1) sports two wins and both were in turf sprints. In a pair of turf route attempts, he stalked, led, and was second best from post 11 in an allowance race at Keeneland last fall, and rallied for the show in the English Channel at 8T in his May 4 return. Javier Castellano is his new rider and he earned improved speed ratings in his last pair. He may have been best last time and should be finishing.

#10 Trikari (3-1) ran last in his turf route bow at Keeneland last fall, but that is looking more and more like a fluke. He switched to all-weather ground and graduated in a Gulfstream route second time out, and returned to turf and missed by a neck on Feb. 20. He stalked and prevailed by a neck in the Rushaway on all-weather ground on March 23, and returned to turf and upset the G2 American Turf from the inside post at 47-1 odds on May 4. Umberto Rispoli is 2-for-2 with him and his early-pressing versatility should allow him to work out a trip from the outside post.

#4 First World War (4-1) rallied to win his flat mile turf bow at Kentucky Downs last year. He stalked wide from post 12 and finished an even fourth in the G2 Bourbon second time out. He switched to dirt and landed the place in back-to-back races including the Mucho Macho Man, and returned to turf and scored as my top choice in the G3 Kitten’s Joy on Feb. 3. He was 4-1 in the G3 Transylvania at Keeneland on April 5 and did not run his race. The course had some give to it last time and he never got seriously involved. Frankie Dettori is his new pilot and they want him to be positioned 1-2 lengths off the early leaders. He might get first run.
