Check out my Tuesday (6-4-24) Penn National Race 4 analysis below.
Penn National Race 4 (Alw-36k, PA-bred 3&up, 6f dirt) – Post Time – 7:12pm EDT
Primary – #2 UNIFIED BY CANDY, #7 Gun Collector
Secondary – #4 Picture This, #1 Bazinga D
Horse Comments:
#2 Unified by Candy (5-1) wired the field in his local debut on a good track at this distance at 26-1 odds on March 7. He dueled and finished a close fourth vs. this kind at Parx second time out, and dueled and weakened to fourth in the mud at Delaware on May 18. This is his second start after a short layoff and he is back at his winning venue and should be all over the pace at a speed friendly distance.
#7 Gun Collector (7-2) is an interesting Charles Town shipper. He fired early-pressing shots in his last four sprint attempts at that venue, and he graduated in a dirt route at Parx in 2023. The 4-year-old gelding earned improved numbers in his last three starts.
#4 Picture This (5-2) was a close third in a turf route on March 1 and Steve Klesaris claimed him out of that race for $35k. He won back-to-back races at this distance in 2022 and dropped all eight starts since. He competed once at Penn National and that was a runner-up finish in the Danzig Stakes.
#1 Bazinga D (9-2) turns back and moves to the Tim Kreiser barn. He ran into a romping winner at one mile on May 16, and he held third after chasing the pace. The competent dirt sprinter should be forwardly placed from the rail.
