Check out my Saturday (6-22-24) Thistledown Race 12 analysis below.

TDN 12 (Lady Jacqueline, f&m, 1 1/8 miles) – Post Time 5:40pm EDT
Primary – #7 CORNINGSTONE, #6 Misty Veil
Secondary – #9 Yankee Dollar

Horse Comments:

#7 Corningstone (7-2) stalked and scored as the favorite in an optional-claiming affair at Churchill Downs on June 9. The sharp early-pressing filly is 2-for-2 at this distance. Brian Hernandez Jr. rides her well and Ken McPeek shows a profit in the non-graded ranks.

#6 Misty Veil (3-1) won the listed Pippin Stakes in the mud in January. She was third in the Bayakoa (G3), second by a neck in the Azeri (G2), and a wide 8th of 9 in the Apple Blossom (G1) last time. Mike Maker’s mare has been freshened for this and gets some class relief.

#9 Yankee Dollar (8-1) is a stakes winner on dirt and turf. The surface switching mare won back-to-back stakes races at Turf Paradise over the winter and exits a show finish in the Wildcat at 1 3/8 miles on turf.
