Check out my Thursday (6-27-24) Thistledown Race 7 analysis below.

TDN 7 (Alw-32.5k, 3&up, 8f) – Post Time 3:50pm EDT
Primary – #7 CHANNEL FURY, #5 John’s Rock
Secondary – #4 Lake Radio, #1 Fair and Square

Horse Comments:

#7 Channel Fury (7-2) has not finished out of the trifecta since October 2022. In a trio of 2024 starts, he split a pair of next-out winners on May 1, missed by a head at one mile on May 20, and turned back and won a fast sprint as the favorite on June 12. The sharp 6-year-old gelding fired exacta shots in all four flat mile starts and could easily make it two straight for the profitable Houghton/Jackson team.

#5 John’s Rock (5-2) won his last four starts at Mahoning Valley. The 7-year-old gelding likes this course and distance, and he can stalk or close. He drilled a local bullet for this on June 1.

#4 Lake Radio (4-1) won both starts since the Michael Rhone claim. The versatile gelding always runs his race at this venue (6 3-2-1).

#1 Fair and Square (5-1) is back on dirt in his third start after a long layoff. He is 5-for-7 at Thistledown and 6-for-9 with a trio of minor awards on fast dirt. He should be all over the pace from the inside post for a productive jockey-trainer team.
