Horse Comments:
#9 Stay and Scam (7-2) competed in flat mile stakes races in her last three starts and she ran well each time including a victory in the Fran’s Valentine on May 25. She fired trifecta shots in eight straight and cuts back three furlongs, and this abbreviated trip is just fine. She is 2-for-2 at this course and distance.
#5 Elm Drive (5-2) faced graded company in her last four turf starts and hit the board in two of those races. Phil D’Amato’s fresh early-pressing mare gets the services of Antonio Fresu and is capable of winning this on her best day.
#8 Runninwiththeboyz (9-2) is 5-for-9 on turf. Phil D’Amato’s sharp mare exits an easy front running triumph at 6.5T and she handles shorter distances.
#2 Connie Swingle (3-1) is 4-for-5 with a runner-up finish on turf. Now for the bad news. She has not been seen since finishing 2nd in the Ken Maddy at 6.5T, and that race was on 10-29-22. She has a very long layoff to overcome and Kyle Frey is 0-for-8 with Phil D’Amato recently. The early-pressing mare fired trifecta shots in all ten outings (6 wins).
