Horse Comments:
#2 Andthewinneris (3-1) makes his second start after a long layoff and second start for Chad Brown. He won the Grade 2 Bourbon in 2022 under Wednesday’s rider Flavien Prat, and he captured the Texas Mile last year. This is his longest test to date and this is hardly the deepest stakes field.
#3 Foreign Relations (5-2) won a pair of turf races at 1 1/2 miles last year including the Grade 3 Louisville. He attended the pace and completed the exacta in his last two turf marathon attempts, and he should be all over below par splits.
#6 Cathkin Peak (2-1) was nabbed out of his last for $80k and Mike Maker does good work with veteran turf runners. Jose Ortiz is 5-for-11 with this outfit recently. I liked this one when he competed in California but he was never really considered a long distance type. We will find out if can handle a marathon trip for his new connections on Wednesday.
