#7 Future Is Now (3-1) might have the run of the race from the outside post. The improving filly won The very One in May and the Intercontinental in June, and dueled through above par splits and finished a close third in the local Caress (G3) on July 25. She should be in the hunt from the outset and can take a step forward in her second start after a layoff.
#1 Dontlookbackatall (4-1) fired trifecta shots in ten straight and she stalked and scored in her last three turf sprints (2 stakes wins). She reconnects with Joel Rosario and always runs her race at this course and distance.
#4 Roses for Debra (6-5) was outstanding last year from May through August. She won four straight at that time and that includes back-to-back local turf sprint stakes scores in the Caress (G3) and Smart N Fancy. Since that time, she is just 1-for-4. She is a head away from a perfect 3-for-3 local record and her winning rider Irad Ortiz Jr. stays put. A stalking trip is likely.
