#6 Reigert Girls (9-2) missed by less than a length in a clear runner-up finish on July 10, and broke through with a big win as the favorite on Aug. 7. Tim Girten has good stats with his recent grads trying winners for the first time, and Antonio Gallardo stays put and he does business with this barn. She figures to stalk the pace and should be competitive at a hint of a price.
#1 Cloud in the Wind (3-1) pressed and scored as the favorite in a local $25k/2L sprint on July 30, and pressed and held the place vs. this kind on Aug. 13 (show finisher next-out winner). She should impact the pace from the inside post for the productive Pablo Morales/Tim Girten team.
#5 Little Lamb Chop (6-1) moved to the Kevin Rice barn and won back-to-back local sprints as the favorite vs. lesser company on July 31 and Aug. 19. The sharp early-pressing filly can compete with these if she runs a bit faster.
#3 Princess Runaway (5-2) might be vulnerable on this surface in the final furlong. She is a dangerous front runner at five panels on turf. I am not sure what we are going to get from her in this all-weather race at six furlongs.
