Horse Comments:
#7 Sophisticate (9-2) broke slow and rallied to finish 5th in her 6.5T bow. She stretched out and rallied for the show in a similar course/distance spot on Aug. 2, and she might move up in her second start after a layoff and second turf route. Her new pilot Hector Berrios is a strong turf rider and she might offer a hint of value.
#11 Helga Brandt (5-2) stalked, led, and settled for the place in her local 8T bow at 4-1 odds on Aug. 2 and Sophisticate was third that day. Antonio Fresu stays put and he is 31% with Carla Gaines recently.
#4 Wimberly (5-1) stretches out in his third start after a layoff. John Sadler’s Curlin filly sports three local works since her last and she reconnects with Juan Hernandez. She earned improved pace ratings last time and will probably impact the pace.
#8 Mizzyaan (10-1) had a bad start and was beaten 13 lengths in her flat mile bow in Dubai. She attended the pace and was a clear second in the G3 UAE Oaks second time out. She made her US bow in a local dirt route on Aug. 2, and she broke slow, raced wide, and split a 10-horse field at 5/2 odds. Umberto Rispoli is her new rider and he clicks with Michael McCarthy.
#3 Sweet Delta Dawn (8-1) was 2nd of 23 in her 6T bow in Ireland and was 4th of 14 in an all-weather extended sprint second time out. She stalked and split a 10-horse field in her first start in this country at 8T on May 26, and earned a better number when setting the pace and weakening to 4th of 9 on Aug. 2. Armando Ayuso takes the call and she should make her presence felt from the outset.
