Horse Comments:
#4 Phosphorescence (3-1) stalked, led, and held on by a nose in a starter allowance turf route at DMR on Sept. 8. This is his third start after a long layoff and he should be forwardly placed in a race lacking front end speed.
#8 Jack Kerouac (6-1) stalked and scored in a $25k/2L turf route at DMR on Aug. 22 and Peter Miller claimed him that day. The 3-year-old colt gets in light with apprentice Serafin Carmona and he might try to make the early lead from the outside post.
#3 Lahaina Flavor (7-5) adds blinkers after showing mild late interest when finishing 4th of 12 in an OC-40k/1x affair at 8T on Sept. 7, and the runner-up was a next-out winner. He rallied to win a local flat mile turf race in March and he reunites with his winning rider Umberto Rispoli.
#7 Zalamo (7-2) ran well in all four all-weather starts in France (4 2-1-1). He competed in seven turf starts since (4 stakes) and he hit the board once. His good turf effort was a rallying runner-up effort in a local OC-50k/1x affair at 10T. Leonard Powell shows a profit with this type of layoff runner and this one is a class fit, but he lacks speed in a race without any pace to chase.
