Check out my Monday (10-21-24) Finger Lakes Race 8 analysis below.

FL 8 (New York Breeders’ Futurity, NY-bred 2yo, 6f dirt) – Post Time 4:23 PM ET
Primary – #4 BOLD FORTUNE, #2 Under Who’s Radar
Secondary – #8 Buttah, #7 In the Chase, #3 Share the Ludt

Horse Comments:

#4 Bold Fortune (4-1) stalked the pace and was best of the rest in third in his dirt sprint bow at Saratoga Aug. 21. Race favorite Sacrosanct beat him first time out and that one clicked right back by a dozen lengths as the chalk in the Bertram F. Bongard at Aqueduct Sept. 22. This Central Banker gelding was 4-1 in his second career start at Aqueduct Sept. 22 and he turned the tables on Skytown in a wire job win by 10 lengths. His number jumped up last time and Dylan Davis rides back, and he could easily be this good.

#2 Under Who’s Radar (9-5) easily wired the field from the inside post in his state bred dirt sprint bow at Saratoga. He went all the way again in a turf sprint stakes at Kentucky Downs second time out and he was placed second through disqualification. He was 2-1 in the Futurity (G3) at 6T Oct. 4 and he stalked, made a middle move, and ended up an even fourth at 2-1 odds. He is back in a state bred dirt sprint and should attend the pace under his new rider Manny Franco. Mike Maker is 2-for-3 at Finger Lakes.

#8 Buttah (5-1) improved his numbers in all three starts. Sacrosanct dusted him in the Bongard Sept. 22 and he gamely held the place that day. He blew out a 3f bullet for this at Belmont Oct. 15 and cuts back a furlong and figures to stalk outside under Lane Luzzi.

#7 In the Chase (7-2) went wire-to-wire in his Saratoga bow and set the pace and weakened to fourth in the Funny Cide second time out. He switched to turf and was outrun in the Futurity (G3) Oct. 4. He adds blinkers, returns to dirt, and should impact the pace under Reylu Gutierrez.

#3 Share the Ludt (12-1) is a maiden making his second start for Melanie Giddings (10 3-3-1 at Finger Lakes). He stalked the pace and finished an even 5th of 11 in his Aqueduct bow at 6.5f. Shaun Bridmohan is 3-for-10 with this outfit and he might run faster the second time around.
