#6 Mouffy (7-2) landed the place in the local Megahertz (G3) and Buena Vista (G2) earlier this year. She won the Perfect Sting in New York July 4 and the Dance Smartly (G2) at Woodbine Oct. 5, and was fourth in the G3 Goldikova and 7th in the G1 Matriarch in her last two starts at Del Mar. Her winning rider Vincent Cheminaud is a profitable 4-for-14 with Jonathan Thomas recently and she is capable of making an impact in the stretch.
#7 Hang the Moon (9-5) was overmatched when finishing last of 12 in the G1 BC Filly & Mare Turf Nov. 2. Prior to that race, she won the G2 John C. Mabee and G2 Rodeo Drive. She is 2-for-2 at Santa Anita and her winning rider Kazushi Kimura stays put, and she should be finishing in the stretch.
#3 Mrs. Astor (9-2) rallied to win 2 of her last 3 turf starts including the G3 Red Carpet at 11T Nov. 24. Vincent Cheminaud opted to ride her stablemate Mouffy. Frankie Dettori takes the call and he guided this one to a runner-up finish July 7. She hit the board in all four starts at this distance.
