#6 Sharp Ride (7-2) added blinkers and finished a wide third as the favorite from the outside post in a CA-bred $20k/1x dirt sprint at LRC Dec. 7. Dean Pederson is 3-for-3 at SA and the 2-time local dirt sprint winner should be finishing under Tiago Pereira (2-for-4 w/Pederson).
#1 Isabel Ludlow (4-1) stalked outside and won a $16k/2L dirt sprint Nov. 10, and exits a show finish in a similar dirt sprint at LRC. Mark Glatt claimed her last time and he is 5 for his last 10 at SA. Diego Herrera is 2-for-9 with this barn and she figures to save ground behind the speed.
#3 Cheeky Gal (5-2) wired the field as the 1-2 favorite in a $25k/2L turf route Oct. 13. She was the favorite in a $20k/3L dirt sprint at LRC Dec. 15 and she set the pace and was second best (Isabel Ludlow 3rd). Antonio Fresu sticks with Peter Miller’s early-pressing filly.
#5 Stellar Cap (3-1) pressed and scored as the favorite in a local $16k/2L sprint Dec. 28. Flavien Prat is her new rider and she should impact the pace in her third start after a layoff.
