#8 Maria Tallchief (2-1) pressed the pace and was best of the rest in third at 7-1 odds in her 5T bow Nov. 22. She stalked and landed the place at 6T Jan. 4 and 1-2 favorite Miso Phansy won that race and returned to land the place in the Cal Cup Oaks.
#7 Guiltyofhavingfun (5-2) was 6th of 8 in her 6T bow and stalked the pace and was clearly second best behind winning favorite Rosa Parks at 5T Nov. 22.
#5 How About Pavel (4-1) stretched out and finished a close 2nd at 8T Aug. 30 and landed the show at 8T Oct. 19. She was 14-1 in the Soviet Problem at one mile on dirt Dec. 8 and chased the pace and weakened to 7th of 9 at 14-1 odds. She is back in a maiden turf route and should be competitive vs. this group.
#6 Big Whoosh (7-2) was an even 5th of 9 at 18-1 odds in her 6T bow Dec. 29 and subsequent Cal Cup Oaks winner Take Another Card won that race. Leonard Powell has good stats with second timers.
