Check out my Thursday (1-30-25) Aqueduct Race 8 analysis below.
AQU 8 (Str-OC-25k, 4&up, 7f dirt) – Post Time 4:37 PM ET
Primary – #4 CRITICAL THREAT, #6 Unlimitedpotential
Secondary – #2 Giroovin
Horse Comments:
#4 Critical Threat (3-1) is a 2-time local winner with a trio of victories at seven panels. He got caught in a duel last time and weakened to 5th of 8. Apprentice rider Christopher Elliott got acquainted with him last time and he could easily bounce back in his second start after a layoff.
#6 Unlimitedpotential (3-1) turns back and drops in class in his third start after a layoff. He won a local flat mile starter allowance event by 4 3/4 lengths Nov. 30, and he completed the exacta in both starts at this distance.
#2 Giroovin (7-5) dusted Critical Threat at this course/distance Jan. 5. He rallied wide from the outside post and won that race by 6 lengths at 12-1 odds. The race flow was in his favor last time and I am concerned about a regression at low odds.
