Check out my Thursday (2-6-25) Turfway Park Race 9 analysis below.
TP 9 (OC-25k/1x, F&M, 1 1/4 miles all-weather) – Post Time 9:55 PM ET
Primary – #1 GUINEVERE, #9 Kiss Blue
Secondary – #4 Ms Sedona, #8 Streetwhereyoulive
Horse Comments:
#1 Guinevere (9-2) won her last two starts as the favorite at Belterra Park. She stalked and scored in August and the runner-up was a next-out winner. She earned an improved number when controlling the pace and easily wiring the field Sept. 25, and the runner-up and show finisher both returned to score. This is her first start in more than four months and she landed the show in her lone all-weather attempt.
#9 Kiss Blue (3-1) moved to synthetic ground and smartly earned her diploma in a special weight route at Presque Isle last September. She stalked and missed by a half-length as the beaten favorite in another route at that venue in October, and stalked and missed by a neck at this course/distance Dec. 11 (show finisher next-out winner). An outside stalking trip is expected.
#4 Ms Sedona (5-2) switched from turf to all-weather and rallied for the show at this course/distance Dec. 5, and she rallied for the win as the favorite in a local special weight affair at this trip Jan. 3. Mike Maker’s Justify filly will try to get involved late. Luan Machado stays put and he is 7-for-14 with this barn.
#8 Streetwhereyoulive (5-1) dropped into a local $50k maiden claimer and rallied to graduate at one mile Dec. 11, and the runner-up was a next-out winner. She was 24-1 in a similar course/distance spot Jan. 16 and ran on late to land the place. The late running Malibu Moon filly is getting faster.
