Santa Anita Recap for Saturday (2-8-25)
Fast main track and good turf course. Three front running sprint winners on dirt (6f, 5.5f, 6f). On the turf course, a dueling 25-1 front runner scored in the 6f opener, a 15-1 longshot went all the way in a hillside sprint, a stalking favorite won at one mile, 9-2 front runner There Goes Harvard stole the San Marcos (G3) at a mile and a quarter, a 16-1 stalker won down the hill, and a 13-1 front runner upset the flat mile finale.
Kyle Frey (sprints) and Tiago Pereira (sprints) both booted home a pair. Hector Palma saddled two sprint winners and Pereira rode both.
Santa Anita Stakes Recaps for 2-8-25
Grade 3 San Marcos (10f turf): There Goes Harvard ($11.20) made the lead under Frankie Dettori, slowed things down on the front end, and easily got the job done by 3 1/4 lengths. Easter (FR) rallied from last to nip stalker 41-1 Lord Bullingdon for the place. Divin Propos (FR) raced wide throughout and ended up an even 4th, and Atitlan, beaten favorite Truly Quality, and Dicey Mo Chara (GB) also ran. Michael McCarthy saddled the winner and show finisher. Fractions: 23.96, 48.08, 1;12.72, 1:36.16, 1:59.87.
The $2 Pick 6 pool was $99,726 and nobody had all six winners. The 5 out of 6 consolation prize was $11,415.60. There will be a Pick 6 carryover of $53,273 when live racing resumes on Sunday.

Fast main track and firm turf course. No front running winners on dirt. Pressers/stalkers won all four dirt races. On the turf course, a 3-1 stalker won the flat mile opener, a 7-2 closer won at 9f, a stalking favorite graduated at 6f, dueling/pressing favorite Casalu won the Sweet Life down the hill, and a 5-2 front runner won the flat mile finale (rail at 10 feet).

Sweet Life (6.5T hillside): Casalu ($3.20) was the favorite under Flavien Prat and she dueled with 20-1 longshot Practical Dream. Prat backed off and let the longshot go, and he re-engaged outside, got clear in the lane, and won by 1 3/4 lengths. As Catch Can stalked outside and secured the place, and Tequilaandtherapy nosed my top choice Schiliflied for the show. Practical Dream weakened to 4th and was followed by Acquitted, Hey Lil Lady, Ce La Vi Charli, and How About Pavel. Bob Baffert saddled the winner. Fractions: 22.69, 44.44, 1:06.92, 1:12.90.
