Check out my Thursday (2-20-25) Gulfstream Park Race 8 analysis below.
GP 8 (OC-25k/1x, F&M, 1 1/8 miles all-weather track) – Post Time 4:20 PM ET
Primary – #7 LE BEAU, #2 Ms. Tart
Secondary – #3 Aspen Dawn, #6 Shade of Pale
Horse Comments:
#7 Le Beau (7-2) pressed the pace and graduated in a local all-weather route last June, and was out of the trifecta in her last four starts. She stretches back out and returns to all-weather ground, and she might be the one to catch in a race lacking front end speed.
#2 Ms. Tart (6-1) exits a local $35k claiming win in a local all-weather route and her new trainer Kevin Rice is 25% with new claims. She owns a pair of wins on all-weather ground and is fast enough to compete with these.
#3 Aspen Dawn (9-5) switches surfaces and Mark Casse has good starts with horses moving from turf to all-weather ground. She rallied to finish at close third at 8T Dec. 28, and split an 8-horse field from the outside post at 11T Jan. 10.
#6 Shade of Pale (5-2) tries all-weather ground and Chad Brown has strong stats with his second after a layoff starters. Irad Ortiz, Jr. got to know her last time and she might move forward.
Wagers:
#7 to win
Exacta box 2-7
