Check out my Sunday (3-2-25) Santa Anita Park Race 11 analysis below.

SA 11 (OC-80k/2x, 8T) – Post Time 8:00 PM ET
Primary – #1 EYE ON RY, #8 Grand Aspen
Secondary – #6 Maniatic, #3 City Exile, #4 Call Sign Seven

Horse Comments:

#1 Eye On Ry (4-1) exits a runner-up finish behind El Potente and that one returned to take the G3 Thunder Road. He likes this distance (5 2-2-0) and the versatile gelding owns competitive numbers.

#8 Grand Aspen (5-1) stretches back out in his second start after a layoff. He was part of the exacta in all three turf routes in 2023 and Sunday’s rider Flavien Prat booted home in an off the turf route that same year.

#6 Maniatic (9-2) invades from France and his new trainer Richard Mandella is a profitable 22% with this type of layoff runner. He adds lasix and sports eight local works at SA.

#3 City Exile (3-1) landed the place in back-to-back local races at 8T in May and June, and won at 11T as the favorite at DMR in July. Phil D’Amato has good stats with this type of layoff runner and his winning rider Juan Hernandez strings along.

#4 Call Sign Seven (6-1) rallied from last of 11 from the outside post and got up by a nose at this course/distance Feb. 1. He is 2-for-3 at 8T and Umberto Rispoli got to know the $315k Speightstown colt last time.
