#7 Check’s On the Way (3-1) dropped from MSW to CA-bred Mcl-50 and dueled and graduated by a half-length in a dirt sprint Jan. 18. He stretched out, chased the pace, and missed the place by a nose at 8T Feb. 15, and was 7 1/2 lengths clear of the rest. He is getting faster and Umberto Rispoli takes the call.
#4 Targaryis (5-2) added lasix, dropped into a Mcl-32k dirt sprint, and set a pressured pace and was clearly second best. He switched to turf, stalked the pace from second, and kicked clear to graduate by 4 lengths at this course/distance Feb. 16.
#3 Valentines Candy (7-2) was overmatched in the King Glorious and G3 Robert Lewis in his last pair. He drops in class and returns to turf.
#5 Maximus (4-1) made the running and romped by 9 1/4 lengths in his 6f dirt sprint debut in October, and was 4th in the G3 Bob Hope, 5th in the Bay Meadows Juvenile, and 7th in the Baffle. He drops in class and stretches out.
#6 It’s a Factor (5-1) set the pace and just held the place by a nose over Check’s On the Way at 8T Feb. 15.
#1 A Votre Sante (12-1) dropped into a maiden claimer second time out and was clearly second best at LRC at 5f, and dueled and graduated at 5f at DMR last summer. He chased the pace and was clearly second best at 6f in October, and was 4th of 5 in a dirt sprint Nov. 30. He ran last at 8T Jan. 20 and might rebound in this sprint.
