Check out my Sunday (3-9-25) Santa Anita Park Race 11 analysis below.
SA 11 (Clm-32k, 8T) – Post Time 8:30 PM ET
Primary – #5 HURRICANE CLOUD, #4 Jimmy Blue Jeans
Secondary – #7 Lottery Pick, #10 Moody Blues, #2 Into It
Horse Comments:
#5 Hurricane Cloud (9-2) rallied to win a $25k claimer at 8.5T at DMR Sept. 1. He missed by a neck in a local $40k claimer at 8T Oct. 18, and had an uncomfortable journey when finishing a close 4th of 11 at 9T Dec. 28. He sports three wins at this distance and Flavien Prat is 7-for-8 with Richard Baltas recently (all 8 finished in top 3).
#4 Jimmy Blue Jeans (3-1) stalked and weakened to 8th of 11 in the Unusual Heat Turf Classic at 9T Jan. 18. He likes to set the pace and enjoys this distance (6 2-2-1), and the 7-year-old gelding drops in class and might get brave if able to shake loose early.
#7 Lottery Pick (15-1) drops out of the optional-claiming ranks. He is 0-for-6 with four minor awards at SA and 0-for-8 with a trio of runner-up finishes at 8T. The late runner reconnects with Antonio Fresu and might spice up the exotics.
#10 Moody Jim (10-1) sports four wins at this course and distance. He rallied to miss by a neck at 8T Feb. 2, and turned back and finished full of run in a smart victory at 6.5T at 28-1 odds Feb. 23. The sharp 9-year-old gelding should make his presence felt in the lane.
#2 Into It (10-1) stretches back out in his third start after a layoff. He has stalking speed and an inner post.
